Frequently Asked Questions

  Question:  When do I need to arrive on Sunday to register my child?

      Answer: Registration begins each week at 2:00 pm 

  Question: Can I arrive earlier than 2:00pm and drop off my child if I have a camper already at camp that needs to come home?

     Answer: Yes, We do allow a "drop off & pick up" service we call Early Bird Registration.  However, there is a $10.00 additional fee.  We are requesting you not drop off early if you simply wish to avoid the lines at registration.  This is a service we would like to continue but will need to stop if it is abused.  Prior to 2:00pm the Summer Camp staff are working on cleaning up the cabins, etc. from the previous week.  If we have a large number of early bird's it makes it difficult for the staff to prepare for your campers week at Timber Ridge Camp.

  Question:  What time do I come on Sunday morning to pick up my camper?

       Answer:  We provide your camper with breakfast on Sunday.  So, check out time is 9:00-10:00

  Question: How do I get directions to Timber Ridge Camp?

       Answer: Directions can be obtained by clicking on this link.

  Question: Can I call my son/daughter while they are at Timber Ridge or can I send them with a cell phone?

       Answer: You can call your camper if there is an emergency at home they need to made aware of at 812-829-2507.  Timber Ridge can not take responsibiity for a cell phone that may be lost in the lake or large cell charges incurred while here at camp.  It is not recommended that the campers call home because it can actually cause more homesickness.  If you are concerned about how your camper is doing, the camp secretary will be happy to give you a report on them. 

  Question: How can I send an email to my child while they are at Timber Ridge?

      Answer: camper email simply fill in the campers name and your message.  The message will be delivered to the camper that day.  Do to the large volume of emails received each day, it is not possible for the campers to return your emails.  We are also not able to deliver any internet postcards etc. 

  Question: What should I pack for summer camp? Is there anything special I will need to send with my child?
 

      Answer: Here is a partial list of items:

•  Clothing for a full week, i.e. 8 - 9 complete outfits.  Shorts, Shirt or jeans and a shirt...You must wear long pants while riding horses or mountain biking.  We recommend only modest ONE-PIECE swimming suits please.
• Sleeping bag or Twin-size sheets with a blanket. (cabins do have air conditioning but a thin blanket is sufficiant...don't forget your pillow.
• Personal Items: Soap, shampoo, toothbrush, tooth paste, insect repellent, towel and washcloth, sunblock
• Recommended but not necessary: Flashlight, rain gear, camera.
• We highly recommend you bring a FRIEND to share in the fun!

       WHAT NOT TO BRING!

• Cell phones are not allowed at TRC! (no exceptions)
• valuables or jewelry
• CD or MP3 players, or any electronics devices such as T.V.'s, or radios, gameboys, DS. etc.
• Knives
• Firearms
• Illegal drugs
• Expensive clothing
