__ Hard hat:  Construction worker or rock climbing helmet (a bicycle helmet may also be used).

__ Light source:  Three lights that are water proof.  It is a good idea for one of the lights to be a 
                          headlight that can  attach to your hard hat. Each light should have new batteries in it.

__ Spare batteries for each light (several sets for your main light).

__ Knee pads

__ Gloves (cloth work gloves are fine)

__ Caving clothes such as jeans and jacket that can get wet and muddy and that you don’t mind
        if they get torn. This clothing is for both warmth and protection.  Shirts should be long sleeve
        to protect your arms.  The underground temperature is 55 degrees. Bring 2 sets of old clothes
        if you do not want to put on wet/dirty clothes on the second day

__ A pair of non-insulated coveralls over a jacket and jeans are good for warmth and added 
        protection against abrasions. The coveralls are not essential, but very nice to have.

__ Foot wear:  Boots such as hiking boots that cover the ankle are best. Keep in mind that we will
        be doing some knee-deep wading in water.

__ Socks: Neoprene booties that can be worn inside your boots are the best for wading. Gore-tex socks
        are also good. Or you can wear plastic bags over the socks. This will at least help to stop the flow
        of the cold water in and out of the sock, thus providing some insulation.

__ Small backpack to carry water, snacks, batteries and lights in.

__ Water bottle

 

__ Duffle bag: with the following items in it.

__ Complete change of clothes including shoes: The caves will be wet and muddy and you cannot get 
         back into the cars that way.

__ Towel: to dry off with.
